River of Light is run entirely by volunteers and cannot make the impact we do or continue to grow without the help of others. We have many volunteer opportunities and we are always looking for help.
-Loading/Unloading/Delivering healthy food and household items
We are always looking for volunteers to help load and unload food products and household items at various locations in Chicago and the surrounding suburbs. We deliver to approximately 25-30 food pantries, soup kitchens, shelters and veteran centers, 6 days a week. Please contact us for more information and locations.
-Administrative volunteers
We are rapidly growing and need more administrate help. We have a spot for everyone from those with previous experience to those that are just learning. We need volunteers to write grants, manage the volunteer schedule, respond to emails, plan events, and help raise donations. Presently we are looking for an Administrative Assistant, who would answer directly to the President, and would help with one or more of the tasks outlined above. We are also looking for someone who is knowledgeable about the ins and outs of Facebook page design, who would be willing to make our site more donation-friendly.
